Sigma 18-35 VS Nikon 17-55

In this review I am discussing the benefits and drawbacks between the Sigma 18-35mm /1.8 and Nikon (Nikkor) 17-55mm f/2.8 with some side by side sample footage.

In my opinion they are some of the best zoom lenses you can get for a crop sensor cameras especially for filmmaking for that price.
I am using them on my Blackmagic cameras (this entire review was shot on the BMPCC6K).

It's a real toss up to be honest. The Nikon 17-55 is a lot more versatile but the Sigma 18-35 is technically a little bit more advanced and more compatible with the Canon mount cameras.

In reality they are both excellent and you can't go wrong with either one.
It will come down to your personal use case scenario.

For me - Sigma 18-35 wins (for now). I will give it a good run to see if it can dethrone the Nikon 17-55 aka The Best Crop Lens (for the money) on the market 😎
