Perugia vs Trentino | Highlights | Italian Volleyball League 2026. One of the biggest clashes of the Italian Volleyball SuperLega 2025/26 season took place at a sold-out PalaBarton, where Sir Susa Vim Perugia hosted Itas Trentino in a true heavyweight battle between title contenders. In front of an electric crowd, Perugia delivered a powerful comeback performance to secure a 3–1 victory and strengthen their position at the top of the league standings.

Trentino started the match in spectacular fashion, completely dominating the first set with aggressive serving, a rock-solid block, and total control of the rally. Perugia struggled in reception and rhythm, allowing Trentino to cruise to a convincing 25–11 opening set and immediately set the tone of a high-intensity encounter.

From the second set onward, the match changed dramatically. Perugia raised their level in every aspect of the game, stabilizing their passing and increasing pressure from the service line. The second set was tightly contested point by point, but Perugia showed greater composure in the decisive moments and edged it 25–23 to bring the match back to balance.

With momentum firmly on their side, Perugia took full control in the third set. Their block-defense system started to function perfectly, while the attack became far more efficient and varied. Trentino struggled to find answers as Perugia pulled away and claimed the set 25–15, marking a clear turning point in the match.

The fourth set followed a similar pattern, with early balance quickly giving way to Perugia’s growing confidence and intensity. Strong serving runs and consistent attacking execution allowed the home team to build a decisive advantage, closing the set 25–18 and sealing an impressive 3–1 comeback victory.

Ben Tara was the standout performer for Perugia, finishing as the top scorer with 24 points and leading the offense with authority throughout the match. Kamil Semeniuk and Agustín Loser provided crucial support, contributing with important points in attack and at the net, while Perugia’s overall team balance proved decisive in the latter stages.

For Trentino, the absence of Alessandro Michieletto was clearly felt, particularly as the match progressed and offensive options became more limited. Despite a dominant start and strong contributions from their main attackers, Trentino were unable to maintain the same level of pressure after the first set.

This victory was a crucial result for Perugia in the race for the top spot in the SuperLega standings, further confirming their status as one of the main favorites for the title. Trentino remain among the league’s elite, but this clash once again highlighted how fine the margins are at the highest level of Italian volleyball.
