Another 70s era discovery of mine. The inspiration was a lick Tony Williams did on a song called "Fred". This isn't verbatim, but conceptually it's what he was doing.
The Lick Library was a course, a collection of fill and solo patterns, on my Drum School website that was live from 2012-2020 when I closed it and retired from performing and teaching.
Btw. retirement is awesome. As a 70yo who had been playing professionally since I was 12, I couldn't be happier with the way everything turned out. I am very grateful. I will uploading videos that don't make me cringe, or have some historical value (to me), right here.
