Exploring the ABANDONED LLUESTY HOSPITAL – War Veterans Infirmary

This Large Abandoned Infirmary was built in 1913 as an addition to the main Lluesty Hospital which was built in the 19th Century.

The building was originally used as a convalescence home for recovering patients.

In 1917 it was taken over by the British Forces and used as a World War 1 Hospital for Soldiers recovering from injuries.

The Infirmary was transferred to the NHS in 1947 and was again used a convalescence home for patients.

In 2008 it finally closed its doors due to a new Lluesty Hospital being built across the road and is currently up for sale.
