The title CUBAC is a fusion of "Cuba" and "Bach," reflecting the blending of two distinct musical worlds: the vibrant rhythms of Cuban music and the intricate counterpoint of Johann Sebastian Bach. Originally written for brass ensemble, I adapted this lively and festive piece for Christoph Croisé and the Swiss Cello Octet. It was premiered in April 2025 at the Niederlenzer Musiktage, marking the first recording in this unique instrumentation.
