Little Ed has been hand reared by us for the past few months. We are licensed DSE wildlife foster carers on behalf of The Haven - YEA. This is a not for profit organisation.
Ed is a male and weighs about 4kgs but will eventually weigh around 40kgs. His full name is King Edward as we name all the wombats we have hand raised after potato varieties, if you've seen a wombat in person you'll see the resemblance.
Also, just a reminder to slow down after dusk. If you do hit an animal, check it for young. It's not as bad as you think, but if you can't, ring any wildlife shelter for help. But at least move it right off the road. It's not just your responsibility, it is the law.
