Hunting for spring salmon - Fly fishing River Spey Brae Beats
A trip in 2022 to Gordon Castle Beats in the hunt for a springer. River Spey showed us all its beauty, challenges and glory - no wonder why this is the magical home of salmon fishing!
We fished Gordon Castle Estates for a week on rotation arranged together with Jock Monteith www.salmon-fishing-scotland.com

3rd May; Upper Brae Beat
4th May; Middle Brae Beat
5th May; Lower Brae Beat
6th May; Castle Water Beat
7th May; Upper Brae Beat
We had the joy to fish with professional River Spey salmon guide Alan Wilson. Alan is a ‘superb' ghillie and instructor who knows every riverbed and stone on the 4 salmon beats. In other words – we were under the very best professional guidance.
