This video is about a tension relieving surgical knot using a combination of an instrument and hand tie. It is a standard surgeon's knot but a finger of the non-dominant hand is used to tension the second throw before slipping the knot into a secure position. This is usually used on buried sutures and I have found it a massive time-saver as an assistant is not needed. Here it is demonstrated on the surface for ease of viewing the knot. I have found not many people know it. Thanks to Dr Richard Turner, Consultant Dermatologist & Mohs Surgeon in Oxford, UK for teaching me. He isn't sure who taught him, but who cares? Hope you find it useful and enjoy teaching it to others.
