This Cubase quick tips video looks at how to give vocals more presence with side chain reverb. When recording vocals, reverb adds a sense of space, but controlling the Revelation reverb in Cubase using a side chain compressor makes applying reverb to vocals much more controllable. The video looks at setting up an FX channel for the Revelation reverb and then using the side chained tube compressor in the channel settings window via a group channel to control it. Adding the right amount of reverb to a vocal or other audio source like this is a great way to add life without overwhelming the sound.
