DQ2 Playthrough | Part 8: An Unexpected Encounter

We're still in Alefgard so our work ain't done yet. By the way, the continents outside of it are part of the region of Torland. Sorry if I forgot to mention about it.

We travel through the other towns, explore dungeons and get stronger. Oh and there's also Tombola Gambling. This time it only took 3 attempts to get the ultimate prize. I either get very lucky or have my mouth just open up in amazement over how bloody stupid this is. Seriously.

We reach past Rimuldar and with the Rainbow Drop, open the way to the Dragonlord's Castle. The dungeon is still the same challenging lot that I remember back in the first game. But unlike the previous game, things are different. Much different. For starters, we take on the Midnight Manguini and Goyling. Two demon monsters, who seems not pleased. Not pleased that the Dragonlord refuses to side with Hargon. If Gawan has Demon Demeaner, have him use it along with Muster Strength. The results are satisfying to say the least. Otherwise use Helm Splitter.

Once those two are dealt with, they reach the Dragonlord only to find out that it's not the same. Turns out it's the Great-Grandson and he knows what happened in the last game. He has no interest in dealing with humans. Instead, he wants to help us. He knows that Hargon is a major threat, so the enemy of my enemy is my friend. That and he's pretty much a good guy. He wants us to seek out the five Sigils. Remember those? Yep. They're important here because Hargon has sent his armies to go after them. He also directs us to the Shrine of Rain. What for? The fairies are in trouble. He also gives us the fabled Erdrick's sword. Unfortunately, the blade has rusted and lost it's power. 100 years have passed after all. It still has the power to banish evil though.

With the Fabled Blade in hand, we venture on. The hunt for the Sigils begins in Part 9.
