In contrast, the father’s unconditional love and celebration of the prodigal’s return underscore that salvation is a free gift of grace, not a reward for merit, and that true sonship is rooted in relationship, not performance. The sermon calls believers to reject the works-based mindset, embrace the assurance of salvation through faith alone, and rejoice in the redemption of others, recognizing that all are equally unworthy yet equally welcomed by God’s mercy.
