Spring / Summer 2026
Inspired by a recent project made in New York called “The Bank Is Dead” the SS26 collection investigates the complex theme of Protection – what has value and what we choose to guard or not, how we shield the vulnerable, and the paradoxes embedded within those acts. Rather than confronting the idea with traditional metaphors of armour and defense, the collection leans into softness as strength – exploring gentler, subtler forms of care.
The runway is transformed into a surreal tableau: a strange landscape scattered with mysterious black eggs from another world. These eggs - symbols of both fragility and latent power - are farmed by towering yellow structures somewhere between futuristic eggshells and portable shelters that glide across the stage like a nurturing vehicle. Within this surreal landscape, mystical caretakers perform a slow-motion ritual: they guide their mobile cradles, gently inspecting, adjusting, and safeguarding the fragile orbs. The choreography transforms into a living metaphor for protection - observing vulnerability, sustaining it with care, and staying close until the fragile shell finally cracks, unleashing transformation and growth. The installation intends to invite the viewer to witness a poetic ritual of care and transformation, echoing the collection's vision of softness as strength.
The central image is a tender yet potent word-play: “prot-egg-tion” – a fragile eggshell, a fierce mother hen, the soft underside of security. From there, silhouettes have been developed using inspirations close to the studio's everyday: the protective cases that hold beloved instruments, garments or furniture. From case shirts, suit cover coats to double-bass dresses, inspired by shapes and vessels for safekeeping. The signature artworks in the collection draw on a wide spectrum of protective symbolism — from music to the natural world. Prints include soft impressions of instrument cases on denim, woven jacquards depicting fierce mother hens and fragile eggs as well as entangled root vegetables referencing the hidden life of soil we need to keep safe. Protective amulets screen-printed on wrinkled cotton for spiritual safekeeping, and playful nods to territorial markings of dogs, echoing the instinctual ways we gently protect what’s ours.
In Everything Cracks Eventually - I’ll be gentle, the act of care becomes a quiet promise to protect not only what we understand, but what is still unknown. By tending to the fragile eggs, we do our part with trust and generosity, safeguarding potential life for futures we cannot yet imagine. It is an expression of faith in the next generation and a reminder that, even without full understanding, we are capable of rebuilding a lasting, respectful bond with the living world.

The set design is intentionally repurposed - nothing is single-use. The structural elements on stage have been upcycled from past performances and exhibitions in New York and Guangzhou. The black eggs are crafted from isomalt, chosen for its low hygroscopicity and reusability. They can be remelted, reshaped, or dissolved in water, ensuring no lasting waste.
