The Brenke Fish Ladder, located in Old Town Lansing, assists fish in swimming upstream in the Grand River, enabling them to safely pass over the dam. Built in 1981, the ladder underwent repairs due to unstable soil and voids beneath the concrete. With Ayers' PolyLevel® technology, we were able to enhance the soil's bearing capacity for the Fish Ladder, which is also used for stadium seating during the Music Festival held in September. This well-known landmark in Lansing is a peaceful destination for visitors who enjoy watching fish along the Grand River. Ayers was honored to contribute to the restoration of the fish ladder, bringing it back to usable condition and positively impacting the community of those who appreciate this natural spectacle and music festival each year.
