Tianma’s booth at Display Week 2025 presented one of the most densely packed demonstrations of display integration and functionality across mobile, automotive, industrial, and medical applications. A highlight was the company’s HOI (Hybrid Opto-Electronic Integration) technology, which embeds components like fingerprint sensors, ambient light sensors, and self-calibrating color feedback directly into OLED displays. The panels can adjust luminance and color balance in response to aging and lighting conditions, providing robust, power-efficient solutions. The fingerprint system can even log and replay finger data, and the ambient sensor helps maintain visual clarity regardless of external brightness. In mobile applications, Tianma showed a trifold AMOLED panel capable of over 200,000 folds, utilizing their stacked OLED architecture to enable thin, rugged, and energy-efficient folding displays. Also notable was their high-transparency “CUP” (camera under panel) display, which hides the front-facing camera beneath the screen without sacrificing clarity or introducing reflective artifacts. Their ultra-narrow bezel display measured only 1.1 mm from active area to the outer edge, symmetrical on all sides. A micro-lens pattern demo revealed how Tianma reduces panel heat by directing light upward rather than wasting it, making devices more power-efficient and touch-friendly.

A major focus was automotive displays, with multiple concepts optimized for vehicle dashboards and in-dash infotainment. These included flexible slidable displays that hide when not in use, L-shaped curved touchscreen panels for intuitive reach, and C-shaped units designed around the driver’s field of motion. Tianma also demonstrated switchable privacy screens, and a dual-layer backlight solution using vertical light collimators and anti-reflective coatings to minimize windshield reflections at night. Another standout was their emissive microLED-based HUD (heads-up display), which projects high-brightness AR visuals onto windshields for driver assistance, even in low-light or foggy environments.

Environmental concerns were addressed through “green display” initiatives, including panels that avoid blue-heavy emissions by combining phosphorescent and fluorescent emitters for reduced eye strain and power use. High transmissivity LCDs and quantum dot miniLED backlights featured prominently, using blue LEDs to generate white light with greater color coverage and power savings. The displays support improved NTSC color ranges and lower ambient reflection, essential for automotive and outdoor visibility.

Tianma’s industrial and medical sections showed off ruggedized and high-performance displays. These included switchable privacy displays for laptops, 10-bit color depth panels for medical imaging with 12MP resolution, and displays that remain responsive in rain and through thick gloves. A miniLED 27-inch display with 2,340 dimming zones illustrated how Tianma can provide localized backlight control without blooming artifacts—essential for precise imaging in healthcare settings.

Gaming and consumer displays also featured, such as a 16-inch oxide TFT panel with 480Hz refresh rate, ideal for high-FPS scenarios with no motion blur, and a variable refresh rate screen ranging from 1Hz to 360Hz. Embedded TCONs and ultra-thin bezels enabled sleeker, more efficient device designs. Rigid AMOLEDs supporting 600 to 1,000 nits were also shown, as well as low-temp polysilicon panels with full NTSC gamut coverage.

Tianma revealed a microfluidic LCD for medical labs, enabling nano-liter level droplet control for chemical experiments. Also on display was a low-cost phased-array smart antenna based on LCD beam steering, enabling dynamic line-of-sight signal tracking for satellites or drones. Other standout tech included a 55% transmissive transparent microLED panel, anti-reflective coatings with embedded ambient light adjustments, and a pixel shifting method to simulate higher resolution by reducing rasterization.

Tianma demonstrated fully integrated POS displays with embedded NFC and touchscreen, eliminating the need for external layers. Their ECB (electrically controlled birefringence) reflective displays showcased ultralow power consumption, using less than 30μW, ideal for navigation and battery-powered applications. Across the entire booth, the recurring themes were integration, efficiency, flexibility, and environmental consciousness—delivered through both OLED and LCD technologies tailored to specific market segments.
