Playing Steam games on the Anbernic RG477M with GameHub Lite turned into a fun little experiment. This video, I share the simple settings that worked for me, the games that felt great, and the ones that needed a bit of patience. The RG477M’s 4:3, 120 Hz screen and capable CPU can make light PC gaming an enjoyable experience on Android, but the Mali GPU’s driver situation means a few quirks are part of the ride.
What I used:
• Preset: Start on Extreme, step down if things misbehave
• CPU: Auto by default, High when FPS dips
• Fan: Auto
• Rendering: Native Rendering+ on
• Frame rate: Cap at 60 first, unlock later to test
• Visuals: HDR/CRT off, Super Resolution for select pixel‑art games
• Display: Full screen on the 4:3 panel
• Sync: VSYNC off
Game notes:
• Celeste: 59 and 60 FPS on Auto CPU after a single first‑launch crash
• Stardew Valley: Clean 60 FPS on Auto; no gain from uncapping
• Octopath Traveller II: Around 40 to 45 FPS on High; 30 FPS cap is a solid alternative
• Hades: Needed the Performance preset; then 70–80 FPS with brief dips
• Silksong: 80s on Auto; roughly 110–120 on High; first boss ~90–97 at a 120 cap
• Sea of Stars: Around 50 to 52 FPS Auto CPU; and 55 to 57 High; timing inputs felt normal
• Chrono Trigger (PC): Native 4:3; mostly smooth with occasional dips to ~45 FPS
• Mark of the Ninja (2012): 19 to 20 FPS no matter what; not playable on this device
• Mark of the Ninja Remastered (2018): 59 to 60 FPS on Auto CPU; 80 to 120 FPS uncapped on High CPU
• Ball x Pit: Fine at 60 FPS with High CPU.
• Hades 2: Blocked by GPU requirements; did not run
Verdict:
If you are buying the RG477M mainly for PC gaming, it is not the best pick. If you already own one or love it for emulation, there are plenty of Steam titles that play nicely with the right settings. Keep VSYNC off, start on Auto CPU, bump to High when needed, and expect the occasional crash or update as GameHub Lite evolves. When it clicks, it is a lovely bonus on a handheld that really shines at emulation.
