Nintendo Wii Not Working

The black Wii came out in 2009 in the uk

I got the Wii from facebook market place in a job lot as not working

First thing I did was test it out to find out what the problem was with the console
and the problem I had with it was that it was not reading games I tried cleaning the game I knew the game was working so it had to be something with the console

When I open up the console there was some paper inside unsure why but when taking it out it did work and as it was open up I did clean the laser with some alcohol 99.9%
