吉丸一昌 作詞、中田章作曲による日本の歌曲。作詞当時、東京音楽学校の教授だった吉丸一昌は、大正の初期に長野県安曇野を訪れ、穂高町あたりの雪解け風景に感銘を受けて「早春賦」の詩を書き上げたとされている。作曲者の中田章は、『夏の思い出』『ちいさい秋みつけた』『雪の降る街を』などで有名な中田喜直の父で、作品にはモーツァルトやショパンなどの有名なクラシックから影響を受けたと思われるものが散見され、この「早春賦」はモーツァルト作曲「春への憧れ」と非常に曲想が似通っている。

「日本のうたを世界に発信」 をテーマに掲げ、2021年に結成されたユニット。
ジャズカルテットに和太鼓・篠笛・ダンスを加えた編成はエンターテイメント性が高く、時に躍動的で、時に詩的な神秘性がある。
日本人の人生に根付いた、民謡や戦前戦後の歌謡曲に込められたさまざまな想いを、ジャズの特徴である即興性を主体とし、幾重にも展開する音と踊りで表現。
新たな彩りを加えた"日本のうた"を令和の世に放つ。

WA FUSION formed in 2021 with the motive to “bring the regional folk music and classical poetry of Japan to the world.” A jazz unit including a taiko drum, shinobue flute, and dance, WA FUSION is highly entertaining, dynamic, and on occasion spiritual in its mystique. “WA” is the oldest attested name of Japan, commonly written with the character [和] also meaning “harmony” or “peace.”
The thoughts and feelings of Japanese people are deeply rooted in their folk music and poetry. WA FUSION wishes to express them mainly through improvisation-a characteristic of jazz- and the harmony of layers of sound and dance. The group will unleash the music of Japan with a new twist to the modern world.
