The early days of BBC7 featured a lot of specially-recorded readings broadcast in daily episodes. Some of these were unabridged and all the more compelling in their sprawling length. The Man Who Was Thursday is just such an example - a bizarre, fantastical espionage adventure about a man who manages to infiltrate the inner circle of a terrible group of anarchists. It is, as the narrator explains in the opening lines, all a dream - but it's no less 'real' for all of that...
