Hindu Code Bill was removing all the evils from Hinduism, which some fundamentalists wanted to keep alive in the name of tradition.
Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar prepared such a blueprint for strengthening the women of India, in which there was talk of giving rights on all issues like marriage, divorce, property etc. In the present context, the Hindu Code Bill has become a milestone in improving the condition of women.
Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar was a great advocate of women's rights. He believed that a society should be evaluated from what is the status of women in that society? For the development of any country, proper development of women is paramount. He believed that women have to be educated and empowered if we are to reach the pinnacle of development.
Babasaheb's larger thinking advocated equal rights for all citizens in the constitution, as well as advocating for equal rights for women, for which he introduced the 'Hindu Code Bill' in Parliament in 1951.
