Before Jesus gave the Great Commission, God gave what we might call the Creation Commission: to develop the world and make it flourish.
In this clip from our Faith & Work teaching, Pastor J.D. Greear shows that every job, from teaching third-graders to designing software to leading a business; is part of God’s design to bring order, beauty, and blessing to the world.
When we create, build, teach, or serve with excellence, we are co-creating with God, giving others a glimpse of His kingdom. Our daily work is not separate from worship, it is worship! The Hebrew word for “work” ( abad ) shares the same root as “worship” ( aboda ).
