"Jester's Brain Omnibus", 1996.
90's Style formed in 1993. Originally formed as Lisa, the group released a few demos throughout 1994 before running into its first lineup change by the fall when bassist Fumio and drummer Tatsuji left. While Tatsuji wasn't immediately officially replaced, Tsuyoshi (剛志) would officially join, and Lisa released a few more demos throughout late 1994 and 1995, before officially changing their name to 90's Style by the end of 1995 with drummer Yoshimichi (義道) joining around this time. In March of 1996, the group released its first demo as 90's Style and also appeared on the "Jester's Mind" omnibus that May. In the summer of 1996, however, Tsuyoshi and guitarist Atsushi (淳) left, and they would soon be replaced, although it is currently unknown as to the names of the members who replaced them. 90's Style would release a few more demos throughout 1997 before eventually disbanding by the end of the year. Ironically, the only members of the group who remained active in the underground music scene was Atsushi, who retired from the visual scene after he left 90's Style and instead joined the underground alternative group Cynical Clump, who would most famously appear on a split omnibus with future alternative rock legends Grapevine in November of 1996. When Cynical Clump also eventually split in 1997, Atsushi then joined the obscure underground group 8 1/2, which also seemed to have dissolved by 1999. He then joined the underground emo group Happy Under River and when it also split in 2005, he started a solo career under his full name of Atsushi Yasui (安井淳) and in 2007 started the indie pop duo Veronica (ベロニカ), although it would later go on an indefinite hiatus in August of 2018 due to the other half of the duo, frontwoman Emi Yamaoka (山岡永美), wishing to embrace motherhood full time. Atsushi, on the other hand, would form another group, NeeU, as well as &. (pronounced as "and-dot"), with the latter forming in 2022. While NeeU would eventually dissolve in 2023, Atsushi remains active in both &. and as a solo artist today. In 2003, Yoshimichi returned to the underground music scene when his first group, Charlies (チャーリーズ), reunited for the first time in nearly 20 years. He remained somewhat active in the group, with Charlies touring occasionally, before the group dissolved again in 2016. Afterwards, Yoshimichi then seemed to have returned to his respective retirement.
