The late 1950's saw some of the most over-the-top flamboyant styling and nowhere was it more evident than in the Cadillac luxury brand. By 1960 Cadillac kept a very similar style to the 1959 but was toned down to appeal to more drivers that wanted a car that represented "The Standard of the World". Designer Ed Taylor incorporated the thin tail light lenses that were recessed into a smaller but still prominent tail fin that kept with the popular "Jet Styling". The most coveted of the '60 Cadillacs are the convertibles like this fine example here.
The 1960 Cadillac was not only beautiful to look at but a joy to drive with a 325 horsepower 390 cubic inch V8 that was mated to a Controlled Coupling Hydramatic referred to as a "Jetaway" and this one shifts very smooth and gets up to highway speed without hesitation.
