Oakmont Historical Society Lecture Series
October 27, 2014
The last leg of a long drive home, a scenic view from Riverside Park, erected for horse and carriage but endured by automobiles and trucks, the Hulton Bridge has been an iconic staple to the Allegheny River for over hundred years. This lecture embraces the Hulton Bridge as it discusses it’s structural dynamics, original dedication, World War II suspected sabotage, controversial name and it’s unique lilac color. An intimate look at the past as its stands in the shadow of the future, this lecture shares the story of the Hulton Bridge before its fades to a memory.
