Grief at Shore of Peace: Mother and son cremated side-by-side after tragic shooting— wife attends cremation after surviving

There were heartbreaking scenes at the Shore of Peace Cremation Site at Mosquito Creek on Sunday, October 19th, 2025, as 25-year-old Randy Rampersad and his mother Gracelyn Ramberan were cremated side-by-side.

Randy’s wife, Kimberly Rampersad, who survived the brutal home invasion that claimed their lives, attended the cremation despite still recovering from her injuries. She had to be assisted in walking as she joined relatives in bidding farewell to her husband and mother-in-law.

Randy’s father, Vijay Rampersad, remains warded at the hospital in serious condition.

The mother and son were killed during a violent home invasion at their Peterloo Street, Friendship Village home on October 10th, 2025. Gunmen stormed the house around 2:25 a.m. and opened fire on the sleeping family, killing Gracelyn and Randy instantly and injuring Kimberly and Vijay.

The attack left the quiet Friendship Village community in shock, especially coming just weeks after the murder of 13-year-old schoolgirl Mariah Seenath in the same area.

Officers from Homicide Region III and the Ste. Madeleine Police Station are continuing investigations to determine the motive behind the double murder.— Story by Ian Alleyne Network
