1 year after Itaewon Disaster: Negligence and Scattered Voice - Newstapa [ENG SUB]

October 29th 2023 was the first anniversary of Itaewon disaster, in which 159 citizens were killed. Over the past year, the Korean government has completely ignored the voices of the bereaved families and demonstrated an irresponsible attitude. Hundreds of victims and survivors are still scattered and enduring after-effects.

KCIJ Newstapa met with survivors, bereaved families, witnesses, and activists to hear their own stories. And through their stories, Newstapa explored what the government and our society missed after the disaster.
