UPDATE: This is no longer my best PS4 Cave run. The PS4 Cave world record I now have is 1484. Here are links to the last route cycle of that run ( • Snakeybus Cave 1484 (PS4 World Record; Las... ) and the full run ( • Snakeybus Cave 1484 (PS4 World Record; Ful... ).
In the description of my 1434 PS4 Cave run, I estimated that I should reach my tail when I'm around the 1530s. In my latest 1484 PS4 Cave run where I did reach my tail, obviously I was short of my 1530s estimate. Something that contributed to my latest run being short of my initial estimate is for one of the counterclockwise laps, I skip the starting area (which can be seen in this timestamped link: • Snakeybus Cave 1484 (PS4 World Record; Las... . Skipping the starting area for this lap shortened the potential length by about 30ish buses but I thought it was worth the tradeoff for better consistency.
See my pinned comment for relevant video links.
I decided to do a run of PS4 Cave for the first time in three months. I was pleasantly surprised to see how much better I've gotten at this map, even with not doing runs of it for three months. In past grind sessions, it might've taken me at least a couple runs or so to reach 1100-1200ish buses. This particular grind session had only one run and in this run, I improved the PS4 record from 1331 to 1434. I didn't feel like doing any more runs afterwards as I decided that's pretty solid progress for the time being.
This run could've been better. In the area between the yellow and blue rings, I bump into my buses multiple times (like at 12:28, 12:48, 13:11, and 13:16) and eventually wasn't able to recover from bumping myself. I think something I could do to improve the run for this area of the map is to be proactive and have some of my bus trails go closer to the center of the map when I'm executing the route/strategy in this area. That way so that when I'm at this point of the game again, this area might not be so congested which should make it easier to weave in between the bus trails.
I will get a better score in the future. At 8:25 while I was 1381 buses long, I land to fill in the last lane of space in a corner of the ground section between the yellow and blue rings. Then at 8:33, it can be seen that to the right, my tail flies past me. This tail goes with the trail of buses that's directly right of me at 8:29-8:31. So using all this information and the fact that a lap around the cave is about 150ish buses long, it looks like I should be able to reach my tail when I'm around the 1530s.
Since I plan on having an improved run of PS4 Cave uploaded in the future, I won't type out timestamped tips for the run shown in this video like I usually do for my Snakeybus videos. The strategy/route is pretty much the same as the one from my 2068 PC Cave run (with minor adjustments here and there to account for differences between PC and PS4 when it comes to how easy it is to turn sharply). So if you want to learn more, you can check out the video of my 2068 PC Cave run's last route cycle (here's the link: • Snakeybus Cave 2068 (PC World Record; Last... ) and then read that video's description.
