The Bayaka people are hunter-gatherers, living in a close relationship with the rainforest. This video shows the method by which communities hunt with nets to catch small ground-dwelling mammals.
The video shows the capture of a small deer called a duiker (Cephalophus spp.), almost all of which are currently Least Concern on the IUCN Red List. However, creation of roads for logging, and proliferation of firearms from outsiders is contributing to decline populations of many wild meat species.
