This video introduces TIMEWALKER – Footsteps Through History, a channel shaped by our travels and the history we encounter wherever we walk.
Across our journeys, we’ve visited a wide range of historic places and periods — from Ancient Rome and Vatican City in Italy, to Poland, where we explore the history of Auschwitz, the camps, Schindler’s Factory in Kraków, and the remnants of the ghetto. These are places where history is not distant, but still present in the landscape and streets.
We also return to Normandy, walking the D-Day beaches, battle locations, and cemeteries that mark the cost of liberation, before travelling to New England, tracing early colonial history from the Pilgrims and the Mayflower, through to the heart of the American Revolutionary War at Lexington, Concord, and Boston.
Threaded through all of this is our continued work on the Western Front — the battlefields and cemeteries of Ypres and the Somme — and our sister channel,
WW1 History – Tommy Atkins Frontline 14-18, which remains fully dedicated to uncovering and preserving the stories of the First World War.
TIMEWALKER - connects these journeys across time and place, using the same ground-led approach: walking historic locations, observing what remains, and letting the landscape tell its story.
Different places.
Different times.
The same commitment to history.
