Plane Spotting at Birmingham Airport | (Incl: Emirates A380 and Qatar 787) | 11th September 2023

A dry and wet drizzly day at Birmingham Airport BHX for plane spotting.

We start at Derby station to catch a CrossCountry HST to Birmingham New Street, this was my last regular Class 43 HST ride on the mainline before they retired for preservation.

We then travel onto Birmingham International where we first plane spot at car park 5, this is where runway 33 is briefly in use before the wind changed to using runway 15.

Afterwards, we plane spot at NCP car park 7 where we are sheltered from the rain, and then we finally head back to Birmingham International station. Unfortunately after that at the very last minute, I was unlucky to miss seeing B1 61306 'Mayflower' on an ECS movement from Southall and to Kidderminster SVR light engine.
