In this video, we take a look at how understanding the basic, standard 12 tone tuning in Classic Mode can be transformed into other EDO's, or Equal Divisions of the Octave, to easily get anyone looking to dip their toes into the sea of microtonality for the first time.
As we've seen in previous episodes, Classic Mode on Lumatone is a powerful jumping off point for anyone first getting into this instrument. With its familiar piano-like layout, it allows for intuitive playing while unlocking the power of isomorphism.
When Classic mode is applied to microtonal note mappings, suddenly complex tunings are arranged and organized is such a way that makes it a perfect candidate for anyone getting into microtonality for the first time. Even for seasoned microtonalists, Classic mode is by far the most common way to map out all alternate tuning systems. From the most basic, to the far more complex.
