Do Not Resuscitate (DNR): How to Choose this Status and STILL Get Proper Care - MD Explains ALL

In the last episode I made about the Do Not Resuscitate (DNR) Status I go over exactly what DNR is, when someone should choose DNR status and why. I also went deep into the research to find out what really happens to people who choose DNR status. My findings were surprising and unsettling, to say the least, revealing that some healthcare professionals interpret "do not resuscitate" as "do not treat." Since publishing that episode, I've been asked by many people what they can do if they still want to choose DNR status but also still want to receive the best treatment and care. That's what today's episode is all about. There is a time and place to use DNR that prevents an amazing amount of human suffering but as the patient, or advocate for a patient, you need to be aware of the downsides and how to go about getting the care you deserve.
