If you need to focus, relax, sleep, or meditate, this footage will allow you to travel to the beauty at the heart of the eastern Sierra in California and Nevada. Bishop Creek and Rock Creek are just outside of Bishop, California. They flow from the vast snowmelt that the Sierras capture during the winter months. You can see from the footage that it was all captured during late winter and early spring, as the creeks are both at a low flow. Enjoy the waters of winter in the Sierra while you focus, relax, or fall asleep to the meditative sounds of the flowing creeks.

The Eastern Sierras have had persistent seismic and volcanic activity over the last four million years has formed the spectacular Eastern Sierra landscape in the Long Valley Caldera and Mono Basin. The Sierra Nevada mountain range boasts some of the best rock climbing, clearest alpine lakes, and most epic ski terrain in the world. But the story of the Sierra Nevada goes far beyond humanity's short time on Earth, and for over a century, scientists have been researching the history of the mountain range.

Rock Creek is several miles off and above Highway 395, an ideal place to experience the east side of the Sierra. There may be a “Rock Creek” or two in just about every state in the country, but only one is home to the highest creek in California. Located at the southern edge of Mono County, Rock Creek Road follows Rock Creek from Highway 395 by Tom’s Place up nearly 3,000’ and a dozen miles to the Mosquito Flats parking lot, some 10,320’ above the sea. About a mile before the road dead ends is where you can find Rock Creek. Rock Creek Lake is one of the highest creek in the Sierra Nevada Mountains. The 55-acre lake offers great fishing and views of the surrounding ridges of the High Sierra. It is also a great launch point for hikes to dozens of high country lakes and streams. The upper reaches of the Little Lakes Valley above Rock Creek Lake are even home to California’s state fish, the legendary golden trout.
