. Neutrophils have a multilobed nucleus with 3-4 lobes. They contain primary, secondary, and tertiary granules, each has a different set of enzymes which help neutrophils defending us.
Interleukin-3 released by the T cells act on the hemocytoblasts.
The second messenger signal goes to the nucleus, the genes become active, and mitosis occurs.
So, interleukin-3 acts on the hemocytoblast cells and increases the production of all the blood cells.
Interleukin-3 causes the formation of myeloid progenitor cells, which form myeloblast.
Dr. Mobeen Syed discusses that there are chemical substances that act on myeloblasts and cause an increase in the production of Granulocytes and Monocytes. These are called granulocyte-monocyte colony-stimulating factors.
The cells which respond to colony-forming factor and divide are called colony-forming units.
Granulocytes-colony-stimulating factors excite an increase in the production of eosinophils, basophils, and neutrophils (for example, in acute infections).
Monocytes-colony-stimulating factors cause the increased production of monocytes and macrophages (for example, in chronic infections).
Macrophages release colony-stimulating factors that transmit signals to the bone marrow and result in increased production of Granulocytes and Monocytes.
The following topics have discussed in the full video:
Granules in the neutrophils
Effect of IL 3 on hemocytoblasts
Granulocytes-monocytes colony-stimulating factors
Granulocytes-colony-stimulating factors
Monocytes colony-stimulating factors
Role of macrophage in increased production of white blood cells ...
