Meet a Civil Engineer, Segomotso Kelefetswe (NSTF-South32 Award Winner) – Career Talk (Full)

Outlook Foundation is the ‘2021 NSTF-South32 Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) Award’ winner. They received the award for organising and rolling out empowerment activities for young people from previously disadvantaged groups through motivational talks, career guidance on SET, mathematics and innovation fields, coaching and mentoring.

Since it started, the Outlook Foundation has been involved in more than 90 projects with more than 77 schools. They have reached more than 300 000 learners and play a fundamental role in engaging with youth to address South Africa’s shortage of STEM professionals.

Career guide: Civil Engineering. Civil engineers, technologists and technicians are responsible for the design and construction of public works, such as dams, bridges, roads, and other large infrastructure projects.

The National Science and Technology Forum (NSTF) is a broadly representative umbrella stakeholder body for organisations with an interest in science, engineering, technology (SET) and innovation in South Africa.
