Shot Kepler of Operation Plumbbob

Plumbbob released some 58,300 kilocuries of I-131 into Earth's atmosphere. Total civilian radiation exposures amounted to 120 million person-rads of thyroid tissue exposure (about 32% of all exposure due to continental nuclear tests).

This was estimated to lead to roughly 38,000 cases of thyroid cancer and some 1900 deaths.
