Changu Narayan Temple: is one of Nepal's oldest Hindu temples, a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its rich architecture and sculptures.
The temple is situated on the highest point of a hill, offering scenic views of the surrounding valley.
The distance between Bhaktapur Durbar Square and Changu Narayan Temple is approximately 6 to 6.5 kilometers (around 4 miles). While the distance is short, the winding roads and hilly terrain of the Kathmandu Valley mean a vehicle trip can take 30 minutes to an hour, and a hike between the two sites can take 2-3 hours.
Travel Options
By Taxi or Private Vehicle: A comfortable and quick way to travel, taking under an hour.
By Bus: Local buses are available, though they might require a short walk to reach the temple premises.
By Foot/Hike: A popular option for tourists who want to enjoy the countryside and cultural landmarks. The hike typically takes 2-3 hours.
