We need to recalibrate our relationship with Indian entertainment; for an industry that holds us in such contempt, we give it too much sway over how we live, love, and act. Despite the undeniable commonalities between Pakistanis and Indians, our tussle in May showed us that Bollywood does not shy away from jingoistic rhetoric when sanity is the need of the hour.
Swearing off the rich cultural output of our neighbour is not the answer- but neither is losing ourselves in it.
