Footage shows a new 'smart' bus stop that opened in Bangkok, Thailand, today July 30, featuring WiFi, mobile charging, and security cameras. The 350 new stops will be installed over the next 12 months. Officials claim they will also help protect commuters from city pollution. The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) unveiled the pilot bus stop at the Fortune Town shopping mall. It had a screen showing bus times and routes. BMA spokesman Pongsakorn Kwanmuang said 100 full-function bus stops will be installed across the city. They will feature a 55-inch screen for BMA news, bus times, routes and transport connections, CCTV cameras, electric lights, mobile phone chargers and WiFi. A further 250 'lite' bus stops will have the same equipment but without the 55-inch display and WiFi.
