Typically, when you use art brushes in Illustrator or Affinity Designer the line will stretch or compress depending on its length.
The workaround is to make line brushes as pattern brushes. Basically, you're making a pattern that looks like a natural line from a pencil, pen, chalk, etc. This results in a realistic, clean, and attractive line in your Illustrator work.
