Materials:
Ideally, you should have all of this before you begin raising amano babies. I have done my best to limit my spending and listing only essential equipment in this list but if money is not an issue, you are welcome to substitute things for better versions, such as plastic containers for glass aquariums.

Saltwater (35 - 36 ppt/1.026 specific gravity) *you should start with seawater or phytoplankton in some way so that the water already contains some algae for the babies to filter feed on.
Freshwater growout tank/adult tank
Pipette and/or turkey baster (1ml minimum)
Refractometer
Glass or plastic jar x2
Small clear cups for transfers
Flashlight
Air pump with airline (no airstone needed)
Sponge filter fit for plastic containers
[Optional] Phytoplankton or yeast as a supplement diet
//Temperature: 25-27 Degrees C, or 77-80 degrees F kept usually 25.5C, 78F
pH: 6.8
GH: 150ppm, also known as 9 dGH
**Alkalinity/KH: 0-40ppm, or 0-2.2 dKH
Ammonia: 0ppm
Nitrite: 0ppm
Nitrate: 20-40ppm depending on fertilizing day
Lights: 6-8 hours a day
CO2: yes, 2 bps
*my KH is changes from 0 to 40 ppm. I use UNS controsoil as a substrate, which already buffers my water to a nice 6.8 almost constantly.
