It was released as a single on March 25, 1981, serving as the third and final single from the album. It was released as a single by Motown in 1981, 6 years after the release of Forever, Michael, to cash-in on the success of Michael's Off the Wall album while also promoting the One Day in Your Life compilation album. It stormed to no.1 in Dutch, Belgium, Holland, Ireland, South Africa, the UK and Zimbabwe. It gave Michael his first solo no.1 in the UK with over 500,000 sales. It also reached no.9 in Australia and no.55 in the US Billboard Hot 100. It even got charted at no.94 in the 2009 UK Singles Chart.
