I decided it would only make sense to include the sheet music to this one. This composition I wrote in 2013, experimenting with different ways to follow the 12-tone rules. I decided to have the tone row be played through many voices, holding notes beyond the strike of the next note, and the release of the notes not happening in order. Especially in the strings-only section, my intent was to get something most definitely atonal yet highly listenable due to the presence of a lot of stepwise and oblique motion. This same technique of stepwise and oblique motion I also used in Stille, Mein Wille, op. 6, also on my channel.
Tone row: Db Eb C A# F E D A F# B G Ab Eb
Why? Because in German notation it makes an English sentence, with one fake word. "Des C Ais F E D A Fis H G As Es." Descais, whoever that is, apparently fed a fish gases.
This is a computer-generated recording from Finale, using Garritan Personal Orchestra.
