How to Convert Manual Awning to 3000 Series 12V Power Awning V2

This video shows how to easily convert your manual awning or Dometic awning to the Solera 12V power awning. It also covers the features and benefits of the Solera power awning and how it operates.

The Solera power awning is a motorized awning that can be fully extended or retracted at the push of a button. Solera awnings also come with a pitch arm that allows for easy, custom adjustment of the awning pitch on either side. The awning also pitches automatically under enough weight to avoid damage from gathering rain water.

The power Solera awning comes with an override nut in the head assemble, by the motor, to allow for manual operation of the awning in the event of power loss. This awning is designed to be a sun shade and is not intended to be extended in high winds.

Lippert also offers a conversion kit to convert a manual RV awning or Dometic awning to a power awning. The kit comes with arms and head assemblies, as well as hardware and all necessary instructions.

This video walks through the steps involved in converting to the electric awning, including fastening the head assemblies in place, treating the awning rail with lubricant, sliding the awning fabric into the channel, bolting the awning arms onto the RV, connecting the motor to power, wiring the power switch, and checking the awning position for final alignment.
