Steve Lukather's guitar solo on Running With The Night by Lionel Richie. This is such a great solo and has stood the test of time! There's a lot to get under your fingers in these 9 bars, however it's very melodic which makes it memorable.
The key takeaway is the use of an added note to the pentatonic scale. This really adds an extra level of sophistication to the melody and phrasing.
