Ikuko Ioka, Japanese Bass Flute player, who had graduated Faculty of Music of Souai University.
Since graduation, she has appeared in numerous performances.
In 2006, she joined Aulos Flute Ensemble to gain experience on bass flute. 2012, 2013, and 2014: she has hold Bass Flute Duo Concerts which were unprecedented bass flute only concerts. She has also participated as a bass flute player in flute festivals in Kyoto, Nara, Shiga, and other cities. Also performs at other events and concerts in which the bass flute plays a very active role.
In 2016, she formed the bass flute unit "Unit Bass" and gave concerts in Osaka, Hiroshima, Tokyo, etc. In 2019, she formed the bass flute group "The Bass'tyle". They held the world's first concert with 10 bass flute players, which was well received.
Currently, she is a flute instructor at Shimamura music school, a member of Aulos Flute Ensemble and Universal Flute Orchestra Japan. Also, she is the representative of the bass flute group "The Bass'tyle" and a member of Shi-Shen+. As a bass flute player, Ikuko performs in Japan and abroad to spread the appeal of the bass flute to many people, and in recent years, she has been distributing YouTube videos as "A series that I want you to listen to on the bass flutes".
