K'nex Deep Sea Ruins

Donkey Kong, Diddy and Bowser venture into the dark and haunted depths of Soda Jungle's Deep Sea Ruins. You may think Soda Jungle isn't too scary, but once our racers submerge deeper into the inky black abyss, there's no telling what may happen. Hope you're not afraid of the dark.

Ta Da! My first truly custom course is finally here! Deep Sea Ruins is based off a level in the Super Mario Bros Wii U. Level 5 of Soda Jungle. One of my favorite levels from the game. I decided to make it into a race course. Similar to Cheep Cheep Lagoon where the track starts and ends above water and then submerges for most of the course. Except this course obviously dives much deeper.

First, a HUGE thanks must go out to ClefferNotes who has graciously granted me permission to use his music in my videos. This music is titled Mario Kart 8 Corona Mountain. I did add an echo to the music, so it does sound a bit difference that the original. There is a link to his page from my channel. Please check it out!

The Tiki Columns are actually large styrofoam cups, wrapped in paper mache, then painted gray. I actually only made three of them and I just moved them around the course as I filmed. Originally I made five of them, two I actually stuffed with paper mache in hopes that I could use them as actual obstacles. The paper mache expanded and busted the cups. I used one of the three Tiki Columns as an obstacle once, like how they do in the game, but it didn't work very well. Back to the drawing board with that idea.

The Bulbers (angler fish) are model magic with a flash light suspended above them. Simple, but not strong enough to serve as an obstacle. In the video game, they serve more as a source of light than an obstacle. I wish that there was a way to make the bulb actually glow like it does in the game.

The Jellybeams (jellyfish) are empty plastic fruit cups painted blue, yarn was glued to the interior of the cup and a small black flash light was glued to the top. I love the effect with these. They came out awesome!

Because of all these new items and obstacles, it took an extra week to get production underway. Thanks everyone for your patience. I know everyone would like to see new videos more frequently. First, understand that school comes first. If my grades start to slip, my parents will put a hold on my YouTube account. Second, I will only upload high quality work. If I'm not super excited about how it turned out, I'll start over. I've actually done this four times since this account has opened. You guys have come to expect the best and deserve exactly that. If I start putting out low quality videos just for the sake of time, then I would lose the fan base that I've built. Thanks for your understanding.

On another note, with a recent change to YouTube's connection with Google+, I can't seem to reply to comments made on my channel. My Dad is trying to figure this out. No, I haven't died or given up. I'm still kicking, just be patient if I don't reply right away.
