Twin pandas in Hong Kong shown to the media for the first time

Hong Kong’s Ocean Park held a media event on Saturday, February 15, 2025, offering a preview of what the public can expect when the city’s recently born pandas make their debut. The panda cubs, popularly known as “Elder Sister” and “Younger Brother”, were born to Ying Ying and Le Le, adult pandas who had previously been gifted to the city by Beijing. The youngsters will be on exhibit to the public from Sunday, February 16, at Ocean Park. A fan club for the cubs is expected to be set up, following a suggestion by Hong Kong Secretary for Culture, Sports and Tourism Rosanna Law Shuk-Pui. Chief Executive John Lee has also called for an event be organised so Hong Kong people can help name them.
