Göreme in Cappadocia is magical. The sunrise balloon watching tour is something you must do. I was doing solo backpacking in Turkey. It was a great experience. I must say that Cappadocia is one of the most beautiful places I have been to and I have been to 49 countries so far, so you can buy my words. It is not expensive to visit Cappadocia in the off season. The hostels that are more expensive in peak seasons were almost empty and very affordable in the off season. If you want to save money of food, I would suggest to buy food from Nevşehir, take a bus and go there from Göreme. Resturants in Göreme are very expensive all year round.
