Why does my new Tesla make a whistling noise?

A not-insignificant number of Tesla Model 3s are delivered to customers with a hard-to-find problem that causes the car to whistle while driving between about 20-50 MPH. I had this happen to my Model 3, and while I was at a Tesla service center today, I went out to see if I could find a new car with the same issue. I only had to look at a couple Model 3s before I found one with the problem, so I've got to believe this is a fairly common oversight during the manufacturing process. The great news is it's a super easy fix that you can do yourself and literally only takes a second once you know about it.
