This video is a basic overview of a throttle body service and fuel filter replacement on the EJ series of engines. Service is the same for turbo and NA models. Electronic throttles can be cleaned in the same manner, but do not operate the plate with force. It may be possible to turn the key on and place a weight onto the accelerator pedal to keep the throttle open. NA models will have the air box/duct in the way. Turbo models will have the intercooler to remove.
Arid dry places with a lot of dust may require a more regular service interval. If these item are not a part of your tune up, they should be!
